The death of salesman Vernon Leong (above, with his wife at wedding dinner) remains a mystery. His body was found at the foot of Hilton Singapore on 4 November 2009, just hours after the event. Yesterday, 5 July 2010, his widow, Ms Kerin Peh, seen here not long after his death, was found dead. -- The Strait Times (6 July 2010)
What a beautiful pair of couples. The bride was so pretty and the groom so handsome. But what happens to them? Read of their tragic news in the newspaper, The Strait Times (6 July 2010)...
The Strait Times (6 July 2010): Eight months after bridegroom's mystery death at Hilton... Widow falls to her death.... She had been an emotional wreck since her husband's death and had slashed her wrists soon after the incident.
Be careful of what YOU BELIEVE
In this modern world, many people are thinking that they have no need to 'have a religion'. Some might even think that it is very old fashion and that it is the 'old people' way of doing things and to follow 'traditions'. But what really is the real 'traditions' or rites that is true in this world?
In Singapore, this multi-racial country, there are all sorts of traditions and cultures, especially now with even more foreigners coming into the country. It is really going to be a "ROJAK" country...
In this country, you see so many types of religion, such as Buddhists, Hinduism, Islam, Christianity, etc. In Christianity alone, there are so many various division. Ask around, and you have answers from Singaporean, saying that they are 'free-thinker' or they might think that religion is just not an important issue or something ridiculous even!
Is religion really an UNIMPORTANT subject?
Take a look at this newly wed couples, the groom was dead on the first night of marriage, at the hotel! This salesman was said to be mysteriously fell to his death from Hilton Singapore hotel (a suite on the 10th floor). His wife, fell from the sixth floor of a 12-storey HDB block opposite her family home in Hougang Avenue 8 around 2am.
Security cameras showed Mr Leong leaving the room clad in shorts and T-shirt at about 3 am and rushing barefoot through the hotel's second floor. Minutes later, he was dead, having fallen from a height and landing on the hotel's driveway. No other details have emerged.
Yesterday, neighbours told The Straits Times they had heard loud crying coming from the family's home around 1am. Not long after, Ms Peh's barefoot body, clad in pyjamas, was discovered........Family members tearfully declined to be interviewed, after saying Buddhist prayers for her.
The Strait Times (6 July 2010): About 60 people attended the wake in the evening. When asked if they knew anything about Ms Peh's state of mind, they declined to comment. Counsellors told The Straits Times that families need to seek help if a relative has shown signs of being capable of hurting him or herself. Watching over the person all the time can also be 'difficult and draining' on family members, said the executive director of Samaritans of Singapore, Ms Christine Wong. One option is to admit them to hospital to get the help they need, she said. "But this can be a difficult process for the individual as well as the family members, who then will not be able to see and be there for their loved ones at all times." Police have classified the case as unnatural death, and are investigating.
What is the religion of this couple? I do not know them. But from the newspaper as shown here, the family's religion is Buddhist since they offered Buddhist prayers.
Since the family is Buddhist and they pray to Buddha, their 'god', how is it that their 'god' would allow such a tragedy to happen in the family? Aren't Buddha supposed to protect them and give them happiness? Who is Buddha? How well do you know Buddha? Where is Buddha now? Who has seen Buddha?
